HYDERABAD, JULY 12. A meeting of Telugu Desam leaders and others from Rayalaseema region has demanded that the State Government rescind G.O. 69 which enabled drawal of water from Srisailam reservoir for power generation at below 854 Minimum Draw Down Level (MDDL) and issue a fresh order.
The meeting attended by M.V.Mysoora Reddy, R. Rajagopala Reddy, former ministers, Bhuma Nagi Reddy, ex-MP, Shoba Nagi Reddy, M.V. Ramana Reddy, ex-MLAs, Chandramouleswara Reddy, KC Canal Water Users Association president, Rajagopal Reddy, KC Canal Ayuacutdars Association president, decided to organise a convention of farmers representatives at Nandyal on July 17 to chalk out future course of action if the Government failed to issue a fresh GO stipulating 854 as MDDL for Srisailam reservoir.
Dr. Mysoora Reddy said that 854 MDDL should be maintained in the reservoir for protecting the ayacut under KC Canal, Telugu Ganga and Srisailam Right Branch Canal (SRBC).
The leaders of all political parties had earlier represented to Mr. Chandrababu Naidu when he was the Chief Minister to rescind GO 69 and maintain 854 MDDL.
